I’ve been wanting to reread this nccaffrey for a while and I have finally started the fantastic journey again! The dragons and their riders having moved out of Landing to the Catherine Caves, Dave Catarel and Sean are watching their dragons hunt. D Characterisation is fantastic with very three-dimensional characters wonders you ajne would love to hate as well as ones that you cheer for!

Her characterisation is at best cartoonish – the sort of strong-strokes simplification that can work well in a businesslike short story, but that ends up much too thin across a sprawling epic. Reading this has definitely sparked an interest to read the books in the series that I haven’t already read. There were a lot of minor characters, and sometimes it was hard to keep track of them, as there weren’t so many who were individualized. I listened to it as an audiobook, which is usually something that takes me a while to get through, dragonsdaawn I did not want to stop listening.

That was so many annne ago that I thought it would be fun to listen to the series while I was at work or while I was crafting. Dragonsdawn describes the first colonists on Pern and their discovery of the disastrous Thread, and the development of telepathic Thread-fighting dragons.

There were so many characters for me to keep track of and there wasn’t a whole lot happening at parts. The colony ships have been mostly emptied of people. When the other dragonets, including the new hatchlings, fly off, Sorka and Sean’s trio stay with them. If so, Dragonsdawn might appeal to you….
